An orphan of an endless religious war, Talin was raised in a church of Heironeous along with his younger sister Erlina and a dozen more displaced children. Lann, the priest of the small church let him know from an early age of the great sacrifice his father had made for his land and faith so that he and his sister could live.
Lann raised Talin on stories of his father’s bravery and determination in battle. Throughout the years these stories along with Lann’s training helped shape Talin into a devout warrior of Heironeous.
Lann feared that he had given Talin a black and white view of the world and was concerned that his blind faith would lead him to the join of the nation’s growing inquisition. The old priest was convinced that the inquisition would forever darken his pupil’s view of the world. So he sent him on a quest of faith to find his true purpose in life and a greater sense of what is good and evil in the world.
So the Paladin left his home and the constant threat of war and headed north where he eventually met the group of adventures he travels with to this day. While he may doubt some of the groups true motives (or sanity), he has faith that he is where he needs to be.
